These photos are of the mould Stachybotrys sp. Grown in Easygel® mould formula #3 the colonies were about 8 weeks old when photographed. The source of the mould sample is painted sheet rock in the area of West Palm Beach, Florida. The sample was procured by Dynamic Inspection Services, Rick Cardo President and CMI. Bioaerosol cassette air samples were also taken using Zefon Internationals Air-O-Cell ®cassette and standard operating procedures. The cassettes were delivered under chain of custody to Advanced Scientific Laboratories of Pompano Beach, analysis of the cassettes reported high counts of Stachybotrys.

Surface samples were taken in accordance with Florida Mould Institute methods. The samples were delivered under chain of custody. The samples were cultivated in Easygel® 4 mould plate multimedia formula for broad spectrum mould growth. In gel 3 the Stachybotrys was found and photographed.

This is not stachy however I thought the shot of the spores and conidiophore interesting. This mould overgrew the stachy.
